Platform Privacy Policy

This policy covers the JobPaglu website, dashboard and backend services — the account you sign up for, the profile you fill in, and the data behind your dashboard. Your Privacy Matters

JobPaglu handles your job-search profile. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it.

Data We Collect

• Account details: your name, email address and password securely stored using a one-way password hashing mechanism, or your Google account ID and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
• Job profile: personal details (contact info, location, nationality, languages), professional background (headline, summary, skills, certifications, projects), education and work experience, work preferences (desired roles, salary, visa/sponsorship status, relocation and travel willingness), links to profiles like LinkedIn or GitHub, your answers to custom application questions, and any resumes, cover letters or other documents you upload.
• Demographic details (optional): gender, ethnicity, veteran status and disability status, only if you choose to fill these in — some job applications ask for them, and you can leave them blank.
• References: if you add a reference, we store the name, relationship, company, email and phone number you provide for them. Only add someone as a reference if you have their permission to share their contact details with us.
• Application history: the jobs applied to, their platform, status and date.
• Account and usage data: credit balance, plan, alert preferences, session activity and error logs used to keep the service working.

How We Use Your Data

Your profile is used to fill out and tailor the job applications you ask us to submit, and to power features like resume tailoring, cover-letter generation and Company Lookup. Application history powers your dashboard. Usage data helps us fix bugs and improve accuracy.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use your resume content to train models for other customers.

AI Features

Several dashboard features send parts of your profile to an AI provider to generate a result:

• Profile / Career Intelligence analysis: a curated summary of your profile — your background, skills, experience and preferences — is prepared and de-identified before being sent to an AI provider to generate your readiness scores and insights. We do not include your demographic answers, your references, or the raw content of uploaded files in this summary.
• Resume tailoring and cover-letter generation: the job description plus the profile details necessary for that application are processed to generate a tailored result. Before information is sent to an AI provider, JobPaglu removes or replaces identifying information where applicable and sends only the information necessary for the requested result.
• Company Lookup: before any AI is involved, we check whether a company is real using public sources (Glassdoor and the GLEIF legal-entity registry). The AI step that follows only receives the company's name and that already-public information — none of your personal data is sent for this feature.

Some JobPaglu features use one or more third-party AI providers to generate application answers, tailored resumes, cover letters, and other requested content. The specific provider or underlying model behind a given feature may change over time as we improve accuracy, speed or cost — we don't re-issue this policy for that, since what matters for your privacy is what's sent and why, not which provider's name is on it today. Before information is sent to an AI provider, JobPaglu processes the request on its servers and sends only the information necessary for the specific feature. Where applicable, identifying information is removed or replaced before the data is sent to the AI provider. AI providers receive only the de-identified information necessary to process the specific request made by JobPaglu. JobPaglu does not send passwords or authentication credentials to AI providers.

Analytics

We use PostHog, a product-analytics service (EU-hosted), to understand which features are used and where the product breaks. It records aggregate usage events — page views and feature interactions — not your profile or application content. It does not run until you accept it in the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and you can change that choice at any time. Your Platform Accounts

JobPaglu never asks for and never stores your LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, Internshala or Wellfound passwords. The extension runs inside your own browser and uses the sessions you are already logged into.

Third-Party Services

• Payments: Razorpay processes transactions on its own secure checkout. We never see or store your card details.
• AI providers: one or more third-party AI processors, as described above — the specific provider may change over time.
• Sign-in: Google, if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
• Email delivery: GoDaddy provides email services used to deliver account, alert and notification emails from JobPaglu.
• Job search: most search results come from JobPaglu's own job listings database. When that doesn't have enough matches for your search, we fall back to third-party job-listing providers, sending them your search filters (not your profile) to fetch additional matching roles.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your profile and application history for as long as your account is active, so your dashboard stays complete. Requesting account deletion starts a 30-day window during which your account can still be restored — contact us if you change your mind. After 30 days the request becomes final, and your remaining data is permanently purged from our systems within 90 days of your original request.

Marketing Communications

Product update and promotional emails are entirely optional and off by default. You choose whether to receive them with a separate checkbox at signup, and that choice is independent of agreeing to this policy or the Terms & Conditions — you can create and use a JobPaglu account without ever opting into marketing email. If you do opt in, you can withdraw at any time from Account Settings, or via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, with no effect on your account or the service you receive.

This is separate from transactional and service emails (account verification, password resets, payment receipts, and the Job Alerts / Smart Job Alert digests you separately opt into from the dashboard) — those aren't marketing, and turning off marketing consent doesn't affect them.

Your Rights

You can view and edit your profile at any time from the dashboard. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, a copy of (portability), or deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing — including rights under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. You can exercise any of these by emailing us; account deletion is also self-service from Account Settings (see Data Retention and Deletion above).

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and passwords are hashed. Your sign-in session uses a short-lived access token (15 minutes) plus a longer-lived refresh token used only to reissue new access tokens.

Eligibility & Children's Privacy

JobPaglu is intended for job seekers 18 years and older. You confirm you're 18 or older as part of creating an account, and the service is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we'll close it and delete the associated data.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Your continued use of JobPaglu after an updated policy takes effect means you accept it — we don't re-collect the consent you already gave at signup for routine updates. If you don't agree with a material change, you can stop using the service and request deletion at any time (see Data Retention and Deletion above).
